Our annual meeting took place at the end of March in 2023. The annual meeting approved three motions, all forward-looking and open, in that they show a direction, but leave the content open so that we can continue to discuss them, for example on Facebook. We start by discussing three issues: language, citizenship and cooperation within the EU, and we do this in context of increased regionalisation and centralization. We invite everyone to think about the issues and contribute to a new social liberal Europe.

The board has for some time been thinking about how to approach the task of ensuring a social liberal Sweden and Europe. As we are not bound by direct party politics and we are also quite free from old baggage, we see it as our task to put forward radically new solutions. Creating these takes time and requires a lot of discussion, and we hope that you want to be part of creating social liberalism for the 2030s and beyond, with the conditions that exist now and in the near future.

We start from Brecht's thesis: wie es ist, bleibt es nicht (in short: things change). We see, however, great opportunities in the "adaptation to the future", while at the same time there are complex questions before us.

One point of departure is that Europe's prosperity has been built on the creative forces in arts, science, business and social criticism – these have existed everywhere in Europe. Likewise, our future is based on there being depth and width in Europe where creativity in all areas can flourish and create alternatives - then we also realize that having only 27 large entities (member states) where each part must compromise both within and with each other is heavy, narrow and shallow. Smaller regions can adapt, compete, cooperate and develop something new faster than entire states, especially together with the synergy effects that arise from increased centralization on other levels. Instead of just building one big brick, we see that we should have many small Lego pieces in Europe, while also building synergies through centralization. Centralization AND regionalization, at the same time. After all, social liberalism is also social responsibility AND market forces.

With the annual meeting behind us, we want to create a new policy that puts all other parties in the back seat - where they belong.

Some minor changes in the board also took place, and we thanked Ulf Swensån for his solid and important work during the build-up period. We have now an organization that can be expanded as we get more active, and we have a lot of technology that we can use going forward.
